As winter comes, the weather in Beijing is bone-chilling cold, but the teachers and students of Dandelion School were still washing clothes in ice‑cold water by hand. Made aware of this, General Manager Michael Liu and Resident Manager Xuyong of Traders Hotel, Beijing frowned and decided to buy two washing machines for the students, to improve their living conditions and to enable them to have more time to study and play.
The decision having been made, Traders Hotel, Beijing quickly bought two washing machines, and Resident Manager Xuyong delivered them to Dandelion School personally and enjoined the students to study hard and reciprocate kindness to society once they grow up. To the teachers and students of Dandelion School, Traders Hotels, Beijing is no longer a stranger, since the “Big Friends” programme was founded by the Kuok Foundation in 2009 and the hotel has been helping and supporting the students of Dandelion School. In 2011, the hotel donated six bookshelves and hundreds of books to the school, and the hotel staff helped the students to paint the walls of Dandelion School. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, Hotel General Manager Liu presented more than 2,000 moon cakes to celebrate this traditional festival with the students in person. In addition, the hotel regularly organised outings for the “Big Friends” together with their little friends to visit museums and see plays. It is like a good friend: Traders Hotel, Beijing is always caring and supporting the students of Dandelion School.
